Daytime Events

You're invited to attend one of these two daytime watch parties, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. on January 20.

Any simple snacks you can bring will be greatly appreciated.
Evening Events
Meet Your Friends at the Ironwood Cafe to Watch the Inauguration:
Celebrate the Inaugural at the Ironwood Cafe, 688 Dover Center Road in Westlake.
The event begins at 7:30 pm. and is co-sponsored by the Bay Village Democratic Club and the Bay Village Obama Team. There will be a cash bar and please bring $10 for snacks.
The time we've been waiting for is almost here, and Barack Obama will be inaugurated on Tuesday, Jan. 20, as the 44th President of the United States.
You're invited to share in this historic moment with your fellow Obama volunteers and supporters in the West Shore area.
There are six local events for you to choose from, including house parties, restaurant gatherings, and even an inaugural ball!
Since Barack is also calling us to serve our communities with our own resources and talents, contributions will be accepted at each of these events for the Cleveland Food Bank, local animal shelters, and the Cleveland Tenants Organization. All these are organizations that badly need our support in these difficult economic times.
If you want to make in-kind contributions, the Food Bank welcomes toiletries (new and in original packaging), the CTO can use office supplies, and area animal shelters need rags and old towels along with dog food and animal toys. Any financial contributions should be checks made payable to the organization of your choice.
Your contributions will be delivered to the charities on the Wednesday following the Inauguration. If you cannot attend any of these events but would like to contribute, please contact westshore4change@gmail.com.
Whatever you can contribute, please be sure to attend one of these events.
Sharing this once-in-a-lifetime experience with others in your community is the next-best thing to actually being in Washington on Inauguration Day!

Daytime Events
Church Social: You're also invited to a daytime watch party on the big screen at the West Shore Unitarian-Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Boulevard, Rocky River.
The event will begin at 11:30, and you're welcome to bring snacks.
Evening Events
All-Ages Inaugural Ball: You and your whole family will be welcome at the All-Ages Inaugural Ball to be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Unitarian-Universalist Church at 20401 Hilliard Boulevard in Rocky River.
Light refreshments will be available (though don't be shy about bringing more to share).
Come dressed up to dance to recorded music, including inspiring music from the campaign.
We will have a screening of the swearing-in ceremony and the inaugural address toward the end of the evening.
Activities and supervision will be available for children.
Inauguration Bash:
Barack Obama has reinvented what it means to be an American! Thatʼs a good reason to celebrate!
Rocky River Democrats are sponsoring an Inauguration Bash starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Beach Cliff Tavern party room, 19245 Detroit Road across from Beachcliff Market Square, Rocky River.
Parking is available in the rear. Snacks will be provided and there will be a cash bar.
Donations to cover the cost of the food are gratefully accepted.
Bring anyone who feels like celebrating! We will watch a rerun of the swearing-in and Barack's inaugural address and share our own feelings about this historic day!
